I have been getting a lot of questions about specifics of the Competitive Effectiveness groups and the major project that you do during SBI. How it works is that students are assigned to a group and in that group you each choose a role to execute for the duration of the project. Positions vary from group to group, but the major and fairly consistent positions are someone to lead the group, someone to maintain the well-being of the group, someone in charge of technology, someone in charge of editing and writing and a few other positions. Each position is equally vital to the overall productivity and success of the group.
One thing that is really necessary for any and every role of the groups is leadership. Everyone has a different style, but each style inspire something to get done. With that in mind, I found this TED talk in which Simon Sinek identifies how leaders can inspire cooperation, trust and change, all of which are very important and necessary factors for the CE project.
