Ambassador Profile: Julia Walsh

Standard

Hi everyone! My name is Julia and I am a Junior Communication Major here at Villanova. Since as long as I can remember, I have had a tendency to over analyze everything and a ton of difficulty making decisions. So when I was a senior in high school faced with choosing which college to go to, I was completely overwhelmed. On top of that, I was puzzled with what major I wanted to be or even what school within different colleges I wanted to apply to. Did I want to be in the Business School? The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences? I had no idea!

I had never taken a business class in my life before SBI, so I was resistant to applying to the business school before coming to college.  I really wasn’t sure if I would like it or even have an interest in it. However, after coming to Villanova as a freshman I soon learned more about the business school and the different majors and programs they offered. I couldn’t help but feel a little bit of regret about choosing to be in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, until I heard about SBI!

I took SBI after my freshman year at Villanova and it has truly impacted the rest of my studies ever since. I studied abroad in London last semester where I worked in a Public Relations and Marketing internship and have now chosen to pursue a second minor in marketing. I am so happy that I no longer have to feel torn between these two different paths because in so many ways they are connected. Besides constantly having to run back and forth from Garey to Bartley, taking marketing classes this semester a long with my PR and Communication courses has been amazing! These courses align really well with one another and are helping me to figure out what I want to do in the future after graduation!
